Chapter 4: People Around Us
Introduction
Chapter 4, People Around Us, is about how "everyone around us is unique": family members, teachers and friends. Their noses, eyes, hair, skin and faces all look different, and they wear different clothes made of different materials for different purposes. In this chapter children observe and draw the details of people's features and design clothes for themselves, using patterns, colours and materials.
What's in this Chapter
- Do you wear the same clothes all the time? What types of clothes do you wear, and what patterns are on them?
- Draw yourself wearing a dress you like, with colours and patterns of your choice, using dots, lines and shapes.
- Fun Fact: "When shapes are repeated again and again, they create a pattern."
- going to a mela;
- a cousin's wedding, imagining yourself in a traditional dress;
- your next birthday party.
- Draw a face with eyes, ears, hair, nose and lips, in any style and with any material.
- Then draw other parts of the body, or the whole body, with hands, fingers, feet and toes, or something imaginative.
