Chapter 4: Making 10
Introduction
"Making 10" takes children from 1–9 to zero, ten and the teen numbers up to 20. It uses dot patterns on a ladybug, a monkey losing his shirt buttons, a tenth birthday, finger games and Simran's boxes of oranges. By the end, children see that 10 and 1 is 11, 10 and 2 is 12, all the way to 10 and 10 is 20.
